Bound by Parramatta River at its south, and Lane Cove National Park at its north, the City of Ryde is located midway between the Sydney CBD and Parramatta, and comprises 16 suburbs. It is a direct-route 20 minute drive from either place, and, outside peak hour, only 40 minutes from Sydney’s Kingsford Smith International Airport. Ryde’s location makes it the ideal place to for businesses of all sizes, with easy access to Sydney’s main motorways.
The City has a population of just over 100,000 and offers employment to around 40,000 in large corporations, small to medium enterprises and micro and home businesses. It has one of Sydney’s finest Universities, Sydney’s largest Community College and three TAFE Colleges, most branches of the CSIRO and, arguably the densest concentration of electronic and pharmaceutical research, manufacturing and distribution organisations in Australia. In addition there are eight distinct retail and commercial areas, each with its own commercial personality.
There are currently more than 13000 businesses operating in the City and the potential for new business through existing commercial/industrial zonings presents an exciting challenge for future growth.
Infrastructure developments such as the Lane Cove Tunnel and Chatswood-Epping Rail Link provide easier access to the high technology Macquarie Park corridor in the north of the City. Current public transport facilities are excellent, with the City serviced by bus, train and ferry.
