What a lovely location the Araluen facility in Epping is – and how well it hosts a big crowd for a Business After Hours event! Around 75 attendees filled the room at Araluen.
Our March networking event showcased Achieve Australia’s Araluen site and also its Achieve Employment Challenge.
Achieve Employment is a not for profit program that has been assisting people with barriers to work, such as a disability or a permanent health condition, to realize their dreams of having a sustainable job in the open workplace. Once a job is secured Achieve provides free on the job training and ongoing support for the person to ensure the best possible outcome for the employer as well.
Anne Bryce, CEO of Achieve Australia, and her team spoke about the program and encouraged members and guests to take up the Achievement Challenge.

Our Business of the Month was, coincidentally, Achieve Australia!
Stephen Lowndes, CEO of Royal Rehab Ryde, spoke on a new initiative for Royal Rehab.
Lyn Mann – The Salvation Army Employment Plus spoke on incentives for employers and employees with their new initiatives.
Andrew Hill spoke on our – now annual! – table tennis event in October and sponsorship opportunities. International Table Tennis is coming to Ryde, so be ready for the ProAm Challenge. David Tompkins from West Ryde Chamber reminded people about the upcoming West Ryde Easter Parade on 23rd March.
Danielle Dickson, Acting General Manager City of Ryde spoke briefly about herself and how she is een to hear from the business community and residents from Ryde; she would very much like to assist businesses in the Ryde area.
David Rafferty from Achieve took the mic for around 5 minutes and spoke about what Achieve offers – the organisation does much more than the Employment Challenge and offers people with disability and their families in our area an enormous amount of support.
