Our events include:
Business
Breakfasts, workshops, seminars
Business Breakfasts provide a kick start to your day without
encroaching on your working day. Up to six times a year Ryde
Business Forum brings you a guest speaker on a topical business
or political theme. Over the last couple of years we’ve
held educational breakfasts on topics such as changes in superannuation
laws, the Lane Cove Tunnel Project, federal privacy laws,
credit card fraud and many more. Breakfasts start with registration
at 7am and are over by 9am. You'll enjoy a hot breakfast and
glean valuable information.
Our breakfasts and seminars are aimed all business sizes
from small business to large, and occasionally we do industry-specific
seminars for, eg, retailers.
At right, Andrew Johnston of Transport Infrastructure Development
Corporation (TIDC), who spoke on developments on the Epping/Chatswood
Rail Link project, with RBF Acting Chairman George Papallo
and other members.
Our breakfast workshops provide small groups, ie up to 20 people, with an almost one-on-one educational experience on a range of topics which to date have included several aspects of marketing, changes in industrial relations law, requirements for employers, website privacy and how to develop your own Google advertising campaign. Enjoy a continental breakfast and get a jump on your competition! Pic below is one of our workshops in action with presenter David Caruso.

Business
After Hours
To showcase their products, services and facilities, members
have the opportunity to host one of our popular Business After
Hours events, which are held monthly at a different member's
premises each time. During the last few years these events
have regularly drawn in excess of 90 members and guests eager
to find out more about the host company.
Business After Hours is held on the first Monday of every
month except January. It's a great way to enhance your business-to-business
communications with your fellow members and guests in a relaxed
atmosphere.
These events run from 5.30 pm to 7.00 pm, with refreshments
and finger food provided by the hosts.
Business After Hours is free to all members and guests attending
the event.
There is a charge to host Business After Hours, which covers
the Forum’s administration time and costs in preparing
for the event - organising and sending invitations both electronically
and hard copy, collecting RSVPs, follow ups, event coordination
liaison with the host, promotion in regular e-news and local
media, promotion on the internet both before and after the
event.
If you're a member and you'd like to host Business After
Hours, contact Ryde Business
Forum for more details. If you don’t have enough space
in your office or facility to host a large number of people,
we can arrange for a co-host venue. When Business After Hours
is co-hosted by two or more members, the hosting cost is split
between the hosts.
Information on hosting a Business After Hours is available
here as a PDF.
Ryde
Business Forum/Toga Hospitality Corporate Charity Golf
Day
Ryde
Business Forum holds a Corporate Golf Day each year. Our
next Corporate Charity Golf Day is sponsored by the
Toga Hospitality Group and
will
be held Thursday 13 November 2008 at Ryde Parramatta Golf
Club,
with proceeds
from a silent auction and other fundraising events associated
with the day going to The Shack Youth Outreach. The Shack
will use the funds for a program to assist young people get
into the local workforce.
We are seeking sponsors for this event in order that we
do not have to increase prices very much for players:
- Banner sponsor.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get your banner out
where it gets noticed by people in the clubhouse
and anyone playing
on the course. There will be six banner sponsor slots available.
Banner sponsorship includes a team of 4 players and dinner
after the event. Cost $600 plus GST
All sponsors and prize donors will get publicity
before, during and after the event. For a snapshot of
what
our golf day involves, read the report
on the 2007 event.
To enquire about sponsorship, contact Sabrina Ferguson by
email or phone 9807 4999.
This year's main sponsor, Toga Hospitality, has two properties
in the City of Ryde: Medina Executive Apartments and Travelodge
Macquarie North Ryde. Toga has been a member of the Forum
for several years and we are very grateful for Toga's support
to assist us in making this golf day our best yet.
This year's dinner sponsor, Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium, will be leaving the cooking of the BBQ to the chefs at Ryde-Parramatta Golf Club (before anyone asks!). The Cemetery has been supporting the local community since 1922 and has recently undergone a multi-million dollar upgrade. Take a walk on the dark side and join in on a delightfully spooky lantern tour and learn more about long-gone locals and famous inhabitants of the Cemetery.
Prize donations:
We are seeking donations of prizes not only for the players
themselves but to use in a silent auction and raffle to raise
money for The Shack Youth Outreach. Prize donations don't
have to be worth hundreds of dollars - even small donations
can be used to make up themed gift baskets for the raffle
(ie food/wine, toiletries, kitchenware, etc). If you'd like
to donate a prize, contact the Forum. All prize donors will
be ackowledged on this website, on the day, and in media
packs sent out about the event.
Donations we have received to date:
- Cricket bat signed by Brett Lee, framed, including photograph
of Brett signing the bat for authenticity. Donated by
Royal Rehabilitation Centre Ryde.
- Painting and wine from The Shack Youth Outreach
- BBQ sets and other quality gifts from The Salvation Army Employment Plus
