Following on from the successful Inaugural Charity Golf Day last year which with the support of all who attended raised $ 20,000 for The Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal , we at Summit are planning for our 2nd Annual Charity Golf Day which will be held on Friday 24th June 2016.
We again have chosen to partner with The Salvation Army with the beneficiary being their wonderful program known as “The Red Shield Appeal” which takes place every year culminating with a door knock appeal held over the week end of 28th–29th May.

The Red Shield Appeal is The Salvation Army’s signature fundraising drive which helps fund our vast network of social and community services.
The appeal began in 1965 and is promoted under our most recognisable symbol – the red shield . Each year The Salvation Army appeals to the Australian community to ensure we can give hope where it is needed most through our social welfare and community service programs.
These programs are relied upon by vulnerable Australians every single day . They range from providing shelter for the homeless, assisting families in crisis through practical support and financial counselling , to guiding people with addictions through to a clean, healthy lifestyle.
People helped each week :
- 3,500+ beds for the homeless
- refuge to 800 victims of abuse
- 4,000 people counselled
- 1,200 addicted people helped towards recovery
- 600 blankets provided
