The Hills M2 is carrying out important maintenance to the motorway’s northern embankment at Marsfield. This work requires the delivery and installation of a tower crane adjacent to the motorway at this location.
Set up of the tower crane requires lane closures on the motorway between the Norfolk Tunnel, North Epping and CullodenRoad Bridge, Marsfield from 8pm on Friday 22 November until Monday 25 November 2013.
Traffic delays on the Hills M2 are expected during this essential work due to some lane closures.
A contra flow will be in place between the Norfolk Tunnel, North Epping and Culloden Road Bridge, Marsfield while the tower crane is installed. One lane will be open to citybound traffic. At least two lanes will be open to westbound traffic.
Traffic control will be in place and speed limits will be reduced to 40km/h in the work zone. Please drive carefully and follow the signs.
Pennant Hills Road and Beecroft Road citybound on-ramps will be closed between 8am and 7pm Saturday 22, and Sunday 23 November to control the flow of traffic on the motorway.
Motorists should plan their journey, allow extra travel time and consider using alternative routes such as Pennant Hills, Epping and Carlingford roads where clearways will be in place.
Please check the signs before parking. Vehicles parked in clearways may be towed and a parking fine and towing fee may apply.
Cyclists are reminded that access to the citybound carriageway east of Pennant Hills is closed. Citybound cyclists must divert off the motorway at Pennant Hills Road. There are no access restrictions to westbound cyclists.
Please note: if the tower crane installation is delayed by bad weather, the work will be rescheduled to the following weekend from 8pm Friday, 29 November to 5am, Monday, 2 December 2013.
