Networking with the Champions draws a 100+ crowd for a terrific fun night

It was all action at our Networking with the Champions event last night – guests grabbed table tennis paddles and played against each other or the robot, our special guests the Chinese, Korean and Australian teams arrived a little late owing to Sydney’s traffic, Gauri Pradhan from Google gave presentations on cloud technology for productivity, and the whole Ryde Community Sports Centre buzzed with more than 100 people chatting and mingling.

Thanks to our sponsors:

It was all action at our Networking with the Champions event last night – guests grabbed table tennis paddles and played against each other or the robot, our special guests the Chinese, Korean and Australian teams arrived a little late owing to Sydney’s traffic, Gauri Pradhan from Google gave presentations on cloud technology for productivity, and the whole Ryde Community Sports Centre buzzed with more than 100 people chatting and mingling.

Our Vice Chairman Andrew Hill hosted the event, the idea for which came about after a chat with John Alexander MP, Member for Bennelong. (JA plays a mean game of table tennis himself – he was in action last night.) John has instigated The Bennelong Cup which is an annual table tennis competition between the Australian, Chinese and Korean table tennis teams. All these teams are currently staying in Ryde at RBF member Dunmore Lang College, as the┬áBennelong Cup test matches will be held today and tomorrow.

As well as thanking our sponsors who contributed to food and beverage last night, a few others deserve thanks for making this special event such a great night:

  • John Alexander MP, Member for Bennelong, for his assistance
  • The City of Ryde for their assistance in making the venue available
  • Peter Garrard, Principal of Epping Boys’ High School, and his Year 12 boys. The boys made and served all the food last night
  • Peter Marriott of Table Tennis Australia for his assistance
  • Gauri Pradhan from Google (who will be our guest speaker at our November Business @ Breakfast which will be open soon for bookings)
  • STARStv for providing lucky draw prizes

Pics from the night are shown below and you can also see a great gallery from Andrew Hill here.
