New Eastbound Ramp on the M2 at Macquarie Park

The Hills Motorway Ltd is proposing a new eastbound on-ramp for southbound traffic on Lane Cove Road, Macquarie Park. In addition to the new ramp, the eastbound carriageway of the Hills M2 Motorway will be widened to three lanes from the new Lane Cove Road on-ramp to the existing Delhi Road off-ramp.

Key features of the proposal are:

  • A new on-ramp from the southbound carriageway of Lane Cove Road to the eastbound carriageway of the Hills M2 Motorway.
  • Widening of the eastbound carriageway of the Hills M2 Motorway by one additional lane from the new on-ramp to the beginning of the existing eastbound Delhi Road off-ramp.
  • Widening of the Hills M2 Motorway Wicks Road Bridge.
  • Modified traffic management systems (including an over-height detection system using existing Variable Message Signage and CCTV coverage of the new on-ramp).

The additional work will be funded through the collection of a toll for the new on-ramp and the eastern section of the Hills M2 motorway.

The toll on opening would be approximately $1.80 for cars and motorcycles and $5.40 for trucks, with the toll to be indexed quarterly on a cent-by-cent basis. The final toll price would be confirmed during final discussions between Hills M2 and the NSW Government.

Motorists would pay a single toll for a single journey on the motorway.
