NSW businesses will have more opportunities to win business overseas in the next 12 months through support programs run by the NSW Government, Treasurer and Minister for State Development Eric Roozendaal said.
"The NSW Government is supporting NSW exporters to win business overseas –targeting markets with growth potential and sectors in which NSW is strong," Mr Roozendaal said.
Industry & Investment NSW's program of trade missions and international exhibitions targets the growing economies of China and India, plus North America and the emerging market of the United Arab Emirates. Also on the calendar for the next 12 months are Hong Kong, Brazil and Japan.
These countries, and particular industries in these countries, have been identified as providing excellent opportunities for NSW companies. The program also focuses on NSW's strengths in innovation in environment, manufacturing, medical and other sectors.
Mr Roozendaal said participation in trade missions and international exhibitions was an effective way for businesspeople to gain access to decision makers overseas.
"Participating businesses can assess their prospects and options in their target market, gain market intelligence and meet potential distributors, agents and customers.
"The NSW Government's team of 10 export advisers, who are located across the State, and other business development managers are available to help companies that are interested in exporting."
