6 December 2005: Around 130 RBF members and guests celebrated the end of the year at our December Business After Hours, held at the beautiful Eden Gardens and Gardens Centre. Live music, lots of dancing...a night to remember! Click here for more information and photos.


18 November 2005: North Ryde Golf Club was once again the setting for our 2005 Corporate Golf Day,when around 40 players enjoyed sunshine, tall tales, and a steak and sausage sizzle after 18 holes of golf. For winners, sponsors and photos from the day, click here.


15 November 2005 - PM opens Mitronics facility

RBF member Mitronics Corporation welcomed Prime Minister The Hon. John Howard MP to officially open its headquarters at West Ryde today. Around 50 of Mitronics clients and RBF members joined in the celebrations. The headquarters is also home to Mitronics' Office National stationery supplies, and features an extensive warehousing facility as well as a superb showroom for Mitronics' Konica Minolta copier/printer range. Congratulations to the Mitronics team on this special occasion!

9 November 2005 - Business After Hours at CPSA

Almost 100 members and guests joined host Sol Cohen and his team at Contract Pharmaceutical Services of Australia's award-winning new facility at North Ryde.

While facility tours weren't available, a short presentation and video gave an insight into CPSA's operations and its state-of-the-art packaging equipment and warehouse. CPSA is an industry leader in pharmaceutical packaging and it was a good opportunity to find out more about the company's ''behind the scenes' activities.

31 October 2005 - Two new members

Great Big Animal Day Out A Great Big Success

North Ryde Veterinary Hospital's Great Big Animal Day Out (GBADO) on 9 October attracted crowds in the thousands. Practice Partners Dr Harry Pisk and Dr George Kaplan, who organised the event, were delighted with the day, which was one of the biggest GBADOs in the state. Several thousand people packed into the surrounding festival area for demonstrations by dog training groups, pony rides and the opportunity to meet Dr Harry Cooper, who did several presentations during the day and signed countless autographs. Guided tours were also given of the vet hospital. The event was opened by Mayor Cr. Ivan Petch. Forum member Andrew Hill partnered with Harry Pisk to promote the event through local schools and Andrew's SportsSTAR Program. Roseanne Gallo of RG Music and the St Anthony's Children's Choir held a special place in the opening ceremony, singing a song Roseanne had written especially for the occasion. Drs Pisk and Kaplan would like thank local businesses and community groups for their assistance in making this day a resounding success.

27th September 2005. Our October Business After Hours was the chance for us and our business partners for the night to welcome members and guests to our new premises located in Top Ryde Shopping Centre. The Hon John Watkins MP was our guest speaker at Business Breakfast on 2nd September 2005. More than 90 members and guests enjoyed Mr Watkins' speech on transport, infrastructure and the future of Ryde. Mr Watkins presented new member certificates to Angus McLeod of A&S Communications and Charles Dalgliesh of the Health Industry Training Group Corporation (HITGC). 2nd August 2005. Business After Hours for August was co-hosted by Able Betta Electrical, Gladesville Chamber of Commerce and Gladesville Village Shopping Centre on 1 August 2005. Around 80 members and guests enjoyed a tour of Able Betta's renovated facilities and the shopping centre itself and exceptional catering by Slices in the shopping village.Click here to read more and see photos.

As well as hosting our August Business After Hours, Gladesville Chamber of Commerce will hold the 2005 Great Gladesville Food & Wine Festival from Friday August 19 to Saturday September 10, with more than 30 restaurants and dining establishments participating in the Gladesville celebration. If you haven't discovered the variety and quality of Gladesville's restaurants, this is a great chance to treat yourself.

6th May 2005. Tony Abboud of Snowden Parkes Real Estate celebrated 25 years in the real estate industry at Ryde Chamber of Commerce's After Hours event on 4 May.

More than 60 people joined Tony, his wife Sylvia, their family and Snowden Parkes employees in the celebrations, which were organised by Snowden Parkes Office Manager Tanya Hatton. Congratulations Tony on your milestone!

 

 

 

 

3rd May 2005. Business After Hours hosted by the City of Ryde is always a popular event, and this year's was no exception with around 110 acceptances for the night. Mayor Terry Perram and General Manager Michael Whittaker presented a 'sneak preview' of the City of Ryde's Draft Management Plan, which will be open for public comments from 10 May. 30th March 2005. We have a new Level 1 member to welcome - the Department of Education & Training New Apprenticeship Centre (DETNAC). The DETNAC team will be working with RBF's Employment, Education and Training Committee on our New Apprenticeship Scheme for the City of Ryde. We're looking to place 250 New Apprentices and Trainees in Ryde this year, and DETNAC Director Philip Moore and his team are a key element towards this success.
