Our Winter Warmer July Business After Hours

Macquarie Park Cemetery & Crematorium was our Business After Hours host this month, and as always offered guests a mini Lantern Tour of some of the famous ‘inhabitants’, led by Mr Sowerberry in Dickensian costume (in reality, Tom Sweeney, Marketing Manager).

Despite the cold night we received a warm welcome from Pauline Tritton and her staff, and delicious catering from onsite caterers Celeste Catering.

As you will be aware member Roseanna Gallo received an OAM in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours, and our Chairman Lydia Scuglia presented Roseanna with a gift on behalf of RBF to acknowledge her award.

We acknowledged the following members and gave them the opportunity to speak for a minute about upcoming promotions:

Level 1 members:

  • Elizabeth Webb – Meadowbank TAFE
  • Beth Ashcroft – NRRSL Club
  • Sunita Menezes & Alexa Escobar – Achieve Australia

Acknowledge Level 2 members:

  • Victor Berger – MBB
  • John Booth – TWT
  • Lyn Mann – The Salvation Army Employment Plus
  • John Golding – Watermark

Victor Berger and Milly Colahan spoke about the Ryde Rivers Festival which will take place on 8 September. Victor is seeking sponsors for the event. Milly put a call out for volunteers for RBF’s Dragon Boat. Last year’s team had a wonderful day and made some great contacts, so do contact Milly and reserve your place on the team.

Eddie Reginato from the NSW Business Chamber gave us an update on the Too Big To Ignore campaign, which is now in its second phase. Guests on the night were encouraged to take goodie bags with them either for their own business or to give to colleagues to spread the word.

We welcomed new members:

  • Condon Associates – Hakki Hassan. Condon Associates is our Business of the Month for this month.
  • Macquarie University – Lena Corzo

Special thanks go to North Ryde Golf Club, who donated a round of golf for four players, and Detergents Galore, who donated two bottles of eco-friendly detergent, as lucky draw prizes. Members are encouraged to donate prizes for each BAH – we will give you the opportunity to draw the winner and give a very brief description of the prize/your business. Contact Milly Colahan for more information on this initiative.
