Around 50 members and guests joined guest speaker John Alexander OAM MP for lunch at the Grand Pittwater Function Room at North Ryde RSL Community Club on 31 March.
John spoke about transport infrastructure, and the possibilities available for funding using value capture.
He touched on the size of major cities such as Sydney and Melbourne and the difficulties residents faced getting around on crowded roads. He suggested that building a Very Fast Train line between Sydney and Melbourne would allow people to live in country towns such as Goulburn and would allow them to commute into Sydney in as short a time as many Sydney commuters.
