Say NO to violence against women at Mayor’s White Ribbon Walk

Community members are invited to step forward on Monday 25 November and join the Mayor’s White Ribbon Walk in support of International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

The Mayor’s White Ribbon Walk will be a public expression of support for the male-led No Violence campaign and an opportunity for all members of the community to take the White Ribbon Pledge – I swear never to commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women.

Step Forward + Take the Pledge = Support White Ribbon Day

Mayor’s White Ribbon Walk, Monday 25 November, 7.30am – 8.30am.

Assemble 7.15am for 7.30am start Bennelong Park Putney, walk along Waterview Street to Ryde Wharf Reserve where participants will Take the Pledge (I swear) at approximately 8.00am. Return along same route to Bennelong Park. Walk approx. 2kms on level ground for 1 hour at moderate pace.

Key speaker will be The Hon Victor Dominello. Light refreshment provided.

Parking: Yaralla Road car park; Kissing Point Park car park.

In 2012 the City of Ryde signed a Campaign Partnership agreement with the White Ribbon Foundation formalising the Council’s and the community’s commitment to saying NO to violence against women.
