Business of the Month, March 2013 – Achieve Australia

Achieve Australia is a company limited by guarantee, governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. It supports approximately 550 people with disability or who experience disadvantage across accommodation, employment and day programs on the basis of achieving social inclusion.

Achieve Australia’s driving principle is to support people with disability to learn and maintain life and work skills, develop relationships, make choices about their lives and participate in community activities.

The organisation takes pride in business and service excellence and deliver services in accordance with the Commonwealth and State Disability Services Standards. Its services are flexible, follow a person-centred philosophy and encourage independence.

Achieve Australia has been providing services and support for people with disability since 1952.

This month Achieve Australia launched its Employment Challenge, encouraging employers to take on workers from within Achieve Australia’s casebooks, giving these people the opportunity to contribute to the working community and also boost their self-confidence and self worth.
